The 80-year-old comedian, alongside his co-star Martin Short, was set to perform in Virginia Beach and Richmond, Virginia, as part of their tour, "The Dukes of Funnytown!" Martin informed fans of the cancellations shortly before the shows were scheduled to begin. In an Instagram post, he expressed regret over his inability to perform, stating that he would return when circumstances improve. He later shared a photo of a positive Covid test with a humorous caption. Ticket holders for the affected performances will receive refunds. Fans have expressed their support and well wishes for Martin's recovery. Their tour will continue across various cities, concluding in Cleveland in April 2026. Additionally, Martin and Short recently attended the Emmy Awards alongside their co-star from "Only Murders in the Building," which is currently airing its fifth season on Hulu.
Steve Martin Milwaukee Concert reviews
WONDERFUL!!! Watching Comedic Icons!
For us "older folks", Steve Martin and Martin Short are SNL Icons. But for the "younger" generation, they are not as well known. Steve Martin told the story about entertaining the troops without having a "comedy routine" since he did not do stand up anymore. Well, when he landed at the base in the Middle East, he saw that the troops wanted a "show", so he pulled out all of his old, outdated material (Wild & Crazy Guys, etc) and then he realized, the troops were an average age of 18, and had never seen him perform! This was a wonderful 90 minutes of Steve Martin & Martin Short having a friendly conversation with the audience, and doing some of their schtick, and playing banjo, and playing along with the bluegrass band, Della Mae. Martin is a world class banjo player and Dell Mae were outstanding! Martin Short is just Martin Short. Crazy, off the wall, and hysterical. And the 2 work like a hand in glove together! Would NOT miss this show, and we would see them again if they played close to home again!
